Sunday, 9th of November, saw a delegation of BNP members of Somerset British National Party, gather together in the city of Wells to pay their respects to those brave servicemen and women who lost their lives in the conflicts concerning our nation.
Mendip & North Somerset organiser Andy Bamford, South Somerset and Somerset general election candidate Mr Robert Baehr and North Somerset contact Mr Perry Parsons, laid a wreath on behalf of the party in the county.
Amongst those others present, was World War I veteran and last remaining Tommy, Mr Harry Patch, who witnessed the horrors of the slaughter of our young men, when he fought in the battle of Passchendaele in 1917.
After the service in Wells, the BNP delegation headed back to a nearby town, to attend another service where a BNP member was the main standard bearer for the Royal British Legion.
In the evening, BNP Somerset held its annual monthly meeting, where Andy Bamford reported on the day’s events, and talked about the ‘Thankful villages’ in Somerset, where all the volunteers in the wars came back alive.
This was followed by a round-up of activities in North Somerset by Mr Perry Parsons, and then a report on the Racism Cuts Both Ways campaign by Mid West regional organiser Mr Mike Howson, as well as a hint of the route of the truth truck leading up to the conference. A good evening was had by all present.
